I have been fortunate enough to work on many projects entered into film festivals around the U.S. One of my most recent works resides within our time doing the VFX for the 2024 SXSW entry, Omni Loop, by Bernardo Britto. Our team was able to deliver 26 high quality VFX shots in a quick turnaround of a few months given we only met once a week.
One of our most prevalent VFX shots we accomplished included adding nosebleeds to the main character to symbolize a side effect of the main conflict in the story. In total, 9 of our 26 VFX shots were nosebleeds. Because the nosebleeds were motivated within the story with delicate timing, they were not done practically. We were able to track the talent's face without any markers and grid warp 2D elements in order to match perspective when her head turns. This turned out to be a successful avenue after discussions of blood sims and matchmoves took place beforehand. Overall, the client was satisfied with our deliverables and all 9 blood shots were finaled and made the cut as intended.

Our task on Astronomical Units, by Beth Ashby, consisted of sky, screen, and green screen replacements all done on a stylized set. Several camera movements led to more advanced tracking shots supplementary to the stylized space helmets the actors wore, which allowed us to key the green screen and use a distortion to enhance the effect. My role on the project was to lead and organize dailies, take notes, and consult the client for her needs. I was also in charge of delivery of assets back to the client.
